Netflix has announced the cast for its upcoming adaptation of Charles Forsman’s graphic novel I Am Not Okay With This. This will be the streaming service’s second adaptation of Forsman’s work after 2018’s The End of the F***ing World. Fantagraphics describes I Am Not Okay With This as:
Sydney seems like a normal, rudderless 15-year-old freshman. She hangs out underneath the bleachers, listens to music in her friend’s car, and gets into arguments with her annoying little brother — but she also has a few secrets she’s only shared in her diary. Like how she’s in love with her best friend Dina, the bizarre death of her war veteran father, and those painful telekinetic powers that keep popping up at the most inopportune times.
Sophia Lillis (Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase, Sharp Objects) will play the lead Sydney. Joining her will be series regulars Wyatt Oleff (It Chapter Two, Guardians of the Galaxy), Sofia Bryant (The Good Wife, The Code), and Kathleen Rose Perkins (You’re The Worst). Aidan Wojtak-Hissong and Richard Ellis will have recurring roles.
The series will have eight half-hour long episodes and will debut in 2020.
