Avengers: Endgame Co-Writer Explains Why Thanus Theory Wouldn’t Work

One of the best theories going into Avengers: Endgame was that Ant-Man was going to shrink down and jump into Thanos’ anus, before expanding to full-size, thus exploding Thanos everywhere. This was dubbed the Thanus Theory.

In an interview with Empire, Endgame co-writer Stephen Markus explained why that theory wouldn’t work.

“Thanos could take a punch from the Hulk, we’ve seen that. And it stands to reason his whole body is at least as strong as that. If Ant-Man expanded, he would be simply crushed against the immovable walls of Thanos’ mighty rectum.”

Meanwhile, Endgame co-director Anthony Russo wishes he came up with the Thanus Theory on his own.

Avengers: Endgame was directed by The Russo Brothers and stars everyone and their mothers. It’s unsurprisingly still in theaters.
