In 2014, Dynamite and Vertigo teamed up to release a sequel comic to the 2012 film Django Unchained called Django/Zorro. Set years after the film, the comic saw Django still working as a bounty hunter, who partners with Zorro to free Native Americans from slavery. The comic had a a plot by Quentin Tarantino, script by Matt Wagner, and art by Esteve Polls.
Now it’s rumored that Tarantino is co-writing a film adaptation of the comic with Jerrod Carmichael, creator and writer of The Carmichael Show and executive producer of Rel.
No studio is attached at the moment, but Sony’s leaked emails from 2014 reveal that the studio was in talks with Tarantino about the adaptation.
