Knights Of The Old Republic-Based Star Wars Movie Gets Screenwriter

A movie based on the 2003 Lucasfilm game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is being penned by Laeta Kalogridis. Her screenwriting credits include Shutter Island, Terminator Genisys, Alita: Battle Angel, and Altered Carbon, which she created.

The story of Knights of the Old Republic takes place almost 4000 years before the formation of the Galactic Empire, where Darth Malak, a Dark Lord of the Sith, has unleashed a Sith armada against the Republic.

Other Star Wars projects in development include Rian Johnson’s film trilogy, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss’ film trilogy, and The Mandalorian for Disney+.

No release date for the KOTOR movie has been set.
