Will Marvel #1000 Feature More Al Ewing Than Women Creators? It Just Might.

Marvel Comics has been on a tear announcing creative teams for what’s rumored to be Marvel #1000, an upcoming anthology book to be released in August 2019. Yesterday, they announced 10 creative teams who all happened to be male creators. Today, they announced 42 more creative teams.

Of the 44 creative teams, it appears that Marvel will include 9 female creators: Gail Simone, Irene Koh, Tini Howard, Rainbow Rowell, Kathryn Immonen, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Kelly Thompson, Eve L. Ewing, and Jen Bartel. For comparison, Al Ewing is announced for 10 stories.
