The first live-action Star Wars “TV” series, The Mandalorian, will be streaming on Disney+ later this year. Today at Star Wars Celebration, diehard fans were treated to a real first look at the show, including some footage from the show. Those of us stuck at home though, were not. The rest of the panel, however, was livestreamed so we were able to get a glimpse of what we can expect.
Along with some behind the scenes footage about the Mandalorian’s ship, the Razor Crest, the main stars were onstage along with the show creators Jon Favreau and his consultant Dave Filoni. Pedro Pascal, the Mandalorian himself, appeared before fans to talk a bit about being picked for the role. We’ve already got a look at the character, but the panel showed off a few more images:
Gina Carano also made her first appearance as Kara Dune, an ex-Rebel shocktrooper trying to readjust to life post-Empire.
Finally, Carl Weathers plays a bounty hunter guild leader named Greef Karga who hires the Mandalorian for a job.
As noted previously, those outside Celebration were not allowed to see the footage outside the event. Apparently it was received well…
The Mandalorian will take off with the debut of Disney+, November 12.
Update: Video of the panel is now available.
