Disney+ To Stream Non-Fiction Marvel Content

While we only have one confirmed Marvel character getting his own series (Loki) on the Disney+ streaming service, there have been plenty others, and today Hawkeye was added to that list. Well, now we have two more confirmed Marvel series for Disney+, but they are not what you might expect. Today Disney announced several non-fiction/non-scripted series for the streaming service, two of them being Marvel related: Marvel’s Hero Project and Marvel’s 616.

Marvel’s Hero Project will be produced by Joe Quesada, Stephen Wacker, Shane Rahmani, Liza Wyles and Sarah Amos for Marvel, and Maura Mandt and John Hirsch for MaggieVision Productions. The series will show:

“… the remarkable, positive change several young heroes are making in their own communities. These inspiring kids have dedicated their lives to selfless acts of bravery and kindness, and now, Marvel celebrates them as the true Super Heroes they are.”

The second series has Marvel’s 616 as a working title. This series is described as:

“… an anthological documentary series exploring the intersection between Marvel’s rich legacy of stories, characters and creators and the world outside your window. Told through the lens of a diverse group of filmmakers, each documentary will dive into the rich historical, cultural and societal context that has become inseparable from stories of the Marvel Universe.”

Neither series were given a start date, but the streaming service is scheduled to launch later this year.
