In a post-Disney/Fox merger world, some projects from before the merger might get lost in the shuffle. One of those projects being New Mutants, the Fox-produced/Disney-owned movie which was filmed last year. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Maisie Williams, who played Wolfsbane in the film, touched on being out of touch with the film’s release.
“Who knows when the f— that’s gonna come out. Hopefully this interview will make everyone hurry up a little bit!”
The film was supposed to go through reshoots in order to make it scarier, but according to Williams, those reshoots never occurred. She also recently talked to her co-star Charlie Heaton and he wasn’t sure what the future of the movie was either.
Directed by Josh Boone, New Mutants was originally planned for an April 13 2018 release, before being bumped to February 22, 2019, following supposed reshoots. It’s current release date is August 2, 2019.
